Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has tendered 8 MW of grid-connected rooftop and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) projects to be developed at various DMRC sites in the national capital. The bid-submission deadline is January 30, 2018.
The project will be developed according to the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model. The scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, storage, civil work, installation, testing and commissioning of the 8 MW grid-connected solar PV project. The successful bidder will be responsible for 25 years of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the project.
The estimated project cost is ₹480 million and the expected project completion time-frame is one year from the date the contract is awarded. The generated solar power will be fed to the grid on a net-metering basis.
In case a single bidder emerges as the lowest bidder for both ground-mounted and rooftop solar, then the complete capacity will be awarded to such a bidder.
The maximum allowable levelized tariff for rooftop solar and ground-mounted solar is ₹3.68/kWh. The sizes of the projects would vary between 10 kW and 400 kW.
DMRC has been working towards reducing its carbon footprint. In July 2017, DMRC had tendered a 2.2 MW rooftop solar project to be developed at its premises.
Azure Power is developing 14 MW of rooftop solar for DMRC. In April 2017, Rays Power Experts commissioned a 5.5 MW solar rooftop project for the DMRC.
