One of India’s leading solar EPC companies, Mahindra Susten has commissioned a 2.2 MW rooftop solar PV plant for a textile factory in Bhawanimandi, Rajasthan. The company claims it is the largest rooftop plant in the desert state.
Mahindra Susten has claimed that a 2.2 MW solar array is the largest solar rooftop plant commissioned in Rajasthan, and one of the largest in India covering over 200,000 square feet.
The project is set to generate 3.2 million kWh energy per year for Sutlej Textiles and Industries Ltd (STIL) spinning unit at Bhawanimandi, located in the Jhalawar district, 115 km south of Kota, Rajasthan. The result of the use of non-conventional renewable energy will not only be a reduction of manufacturing costs, but will also deliver more competitive product prices on the market, while making the best use of currently idle and unused rooftop space.
Currently, Mahindra Susten has 1,625 MW solar projects at various stages of execution.
