The Assam Energy Development Agency (AEDA) will provide Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of 70 percent for the development of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects across the state.
The AEDA is implementing this program to develop 14 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar PV projects atop various buildings spread across residential, institutional and social sectors of the state.
The proposed rooftop projects can be developed under either the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) or the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model.
Under the CAPEX mode, a subsidy to the tune of ₹42,203/kW will be provided to projects with capacity ranging between 1 kW and 10kW. For projects with a capacity between 19 kW-100 kW, a subsidy of ₹39,186/kW will be provided. Moreover, a subsidy of ₹36,176 /kW will be made available to the projects which have a capacity ranging between 100 kW-500 kW.
For projects developed under RESCO mode, beneficiaries do not need to pay any amount. AEDA has fixed a tariff of ₹3.43/kWh payable for a period of 25 years for the projects.
For the swift implementation of the rooftop solar projects across these buildings in the state, AEDA has also come up with names of 13 empaneled vendors who can help with the installation of rooftop projects.
The introduction of the rooftop solar program is another step forward toward the goal of universal electrification that the government aims to achieve.
