Indus Towers Promotes Green Commute Amongst Employees

In its bid to promote a sustainable and green public transport option among its employees, Indus Towers, India’s largest telecom tower company, today joined hands with Rapid Metro Gurgaon. Leading by example, Bimal Dayal, CEO, Indus Towers along with its employees and Rajiv Banga, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IL&FS Rail Ltd today boarded the Rapid Metro from Sector 55-56 Rapid Metro Station and travelled till Vodafone Belvedere Tower Rapid Metro Station. In its bid to promote a sustainable and green public transport option among its employees, Indus Towers, India’s largest telecom tower company, today joined hands with Rapid Metro Gurgaon.

Leading by example, Bimal Dayal, CEO, Indus Towers, along with its employees and Rajiv Banga, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IL&FS Rail Ltd., today boarded the Rapid Metro from Sector 55-56 Rapid Metro Station and travelled till Vodafone Belvedere Tower Rapid Metro Station.

The move is aimed at promoting usage of public transport, instead of private transport, amongst employees and is inline with Indus’ commitment towards protecting the environment and reduce carbon footprints. The move will benefit Indus’ employees travelling from Gurugram and Delhi NCR to Indus’ office.

Since its inception in 2008, Indus Towers has consistently worked towards creating value for all its stakeholders in a sustainable manner with commitment towards green initiatives and ‘Putting India First’.

Indus Towers, in line with its commitment towards protecting the environment, has made significant progress in expanding its green sites portfolio to 54% of its total portfolio of towers across India, as of February 2018. Green Sites, are those telecom sites of Indus Towers, where no diesel is consumed for cell site operations.
