Rooftop solar may pick up in Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) after the recent announcement of additional subsidy by U.P. Governmant.
The state government has announced an additional subsidy of Rs 15,000 per kilowatt (KW) or a maximum of Rs 30,000 for installation of solar plants after the Centre announced 30% subsidy on the same.
To take benefit of this scheme, one has to submit an online application form, which will be available from this week, from the website of Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA). Within one week of the submission of online application, the processing for installation of solar power plant will be initiated.
The applicant will have to take a no objection certificate (NOC) from local power distribution company as well as UPNEDA.
Under the scheme, there is also a scope for installation of a common solar power plant of up to 25 percent capacity of the electric transformer in residential areas. This will help in promotion of community solar.
“The applications for rooftop solar power plant scheme will be accepted through upneda.org.in.”
