The traffic speeds in most of the metropolitan cities in India are under 20 km/hr on an average. This means that consumers could actually travel to work faster on a bicycle.
As a result, Uber has tied up with the technology-driven mobility platform Yulu to provide its users with the option to ride e-bikes and bicycles in Bengaluru.
These e-bikes can clock speeds of over 25 km/hr, and the users don’t even need a license to ride one of these. These dockless bicycles can be rented seamlessly on a pay-per-use basis.
Through this tie-up, Uber riders will now be able to book e-bikes and bicycles in just a few taps. The Yulu e-bikes can be unlocked using the QR code scanner on your device, thereby enabling easy pick-up and return throughout the urban centres of Bengaluru.
The first three rides will be free, for first-time users to experience the convenience of this facility.
Along with being environment and traffic friendly, these self-ride e-bikes are also pocket-friendly, taking into account the varying needs and budgets of various different consumers.
This eco-friendly option will not only help users in reducing their carbon footprint but also improve their health.
