In this era of extreme weather events, it is quite apt to discuss the issues and challenges of climate change at micro, meso and macro level with sole objective to achieve sustainability in terms of environment.
Following this, Department of Geography, SS Jain Subodh PG college, Jaipur, Rajasthan organized national conference on ‘Climate Change and Sustainable Development’ for Generation Z so as to sensitize them to this burning issue under the convenorship of Dr. B.P. Sharma.
The experts namely Prof. D.R. Khullar, Prof. Nathawa, Prof. S.C. Rai, Prof. Kaushal Kumar, Prof. Anupam Pandey from various fields expressed their views on climate change and suggested that how community participation and community awareness can help in achieving the sustainable environment.
During technical sessions, various issues like carbon emissions, air pollution, biodiversity loss, cropland reduction, stubble burning, forest fires, cropland reduction, role of PRIs in flood management, solid waste and many more.
The participants comprised of faculty members, research scholars, PG and UG level students and even school students coming from length and breadth of country.
During the closing ceremony, Prof. Nathawa guided the young scholars to work on research methodology and literature review in order to produce fruitful and quality research work. In addition to this, he pointed out the general mistakes committed by the students and suggested that how these mistakes be avoided and corrected.
To encourage the young students and scholars there was awards for best oral presentation, best poster presentation and other consolation prizes.
