Detel has been in the news for the right reasons. The brand that introduced the world’s most affordable helmet has also come up with an economical EV which is priced for just Rs.19,999/-.
They are gearing up to launch the revised version of this EV and are hoping to make a 100 per cent made in India electric vehicle soon. This will use local components as opposed to the imported ones currently being used.
Both the Battery Management System (BMS) as well as battery cells are being imported however tyres are being supplied by local manufacturer Ralco.
Although within next six months they plan to launch Detel Easy Plus with 100 per cent Indian components. For this expansion and localization they intend to raise a fund of Rs 150crr. This money will be raised by the end of 2021.
Detel plans to invest in making an R&D facility for the brand and also to build a manufacturing unit in Gurugram, These factory will roll out economical and Indigenous EVs in the market.
The bike has various value-added high end features in their range of electric vehicles such as 170mm road clearance, digital meter, tubeless tyres among others.
