TVS Motors & Tata Power To Deploy EV Charging Infrastructure

TVS Motor Company, one of India’s largest two- and three-wheeler manufacturers, has formed a strategic alliance with Tata Power. The two businesses agreed, as part of the MoU, to push the complete deployment of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI) across India and to deploy solar power technology at TVS Motor sites.

The collaboration intends to build a big specialized electric two-wheeler charging infrastructure in India to boost electric mobility.

This will also provide TVS iQube Electric customers with access to Tata Power’s extensive charging network across India via the TVS Motor customer connect app and the Tata Power EZ Charge app. The collaboration intends to build a normal AC charging network as well as a DC fast-charging network for electric two-wheelers.

The two firms will also look at the possibility of using solar energy to power certain TVS Motor facilities.

TVS stated that the agreement with Tata Power is in keeping with the company’s goal to extend the presence of TVS iQube Electric in over 25 cities over the next several months.

Tata Power operates a vast network of over 5,000 home chargers and 700 public chargers in over 120 locations across India. The firm is present in all aspects of the EV eco-system, including public charging, captive charging, and home and office charging stations.
