ReNew Power and Japan’s Mitsui have struck an agreement under which the Japanese business would invest in the Indian company’s round-the-clock renewable energy project.
In Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, three wind farms and a solar-plus-battery storage farm will be built. It will supply 400 MW of power to the state-owned Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The ReNew Power farm will have a capacity of 1,300 MW and a battery storage capacity of 100 MWh. The project “will contribute to” India’s climate change commitments and goal of expanding the renewable energy industry.
The project “provides the lowest cost and emission-free renewable power 24 hours a day, seven days a week.” Mitsui, in collaboration with ReNew, will speed India’s renewable energy transformation with this initiative.
