The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has revealed the results of its auction to build green hydrogen generation facilities. The project, which was tendered in July 2023, includes two buckets with different capacities and technologies.

Bucket I has a capacity of 410,000 metric tonnes per annum and is technology agnostic, while bucket II has a capacity of 40,000 metric tonnes per annum and is biomass-based.

Reliance, Greenko, and ACME have been awarded a green hydrogen capacity of 90,000 MT each with incentives of Rs 18.9, Rs 30, and Rs 30 per kg, respectively. Welspun New Energy, JSW Energy, Hygenco, and Torrent Power have also been awarded capacities with different incentives.

Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Projects and UPL have won capacities with zero-average incentives. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has won a capacity of 2,000 MT under bucket II. The remaining capacity of 38,000 MT has not been allocated.

All green hydrogen projects must be completed within 30 months of receiving the letter of award.

SECI, in January 2023, announced a tender for commercial banks or financial institutions to offer a term loan of 10 billion for setting up a 300 MW solar power project in Ramagiri village, Sri Satya Sai District, Andhra Pradesh.

In January 2024, SECI released a tender for the development of 1,500 MW solar projects connected to an inter-state transmission system (Tranche XIII).
