Gensol Engineering has secured a record-breaking turnkey contract worth Rs 5.2 billion for a solar power project in Maharashtra. This is their largest project in terms of both size and value.
The project involves building a 100 MW AC (135 MWp) ground-mounted solar photovoltaic power plant across 500 acres. Gensol will handle everything from land acquisition and design to engineering, procurement, construction, and obtaining permits.
They’ll also install and commission the plant and provide operational management and maintenance for the switcyard and transmission infrastructure for three years. The entire project needs to be completed within 450 days of receiving the official order.
This comes on the heels of Gensol securing EPC contracts for two other solar projects totaling 422.5 MW DC in February 2024. Additionally, they successfully raised Rs 9 billion in equity capital through convertible warrants in the same month.
